Artist Statement

To create artwork across film, video and installation, I seek to visually abstract the effects of cognitive perception and the phenomenology of consciousness, ebbing between a sharp high definition aesthetic and the artefacts of analogue with psychedelic visuals and technological processing.

‘Eye Vergence’ is an anaglyphic 3d video installation exploring our visual system through a melding of analogue video feedback, generative art and optical anomalies. The immersion of depth perception and convergence are challenged by abstracting phenomena in visual processing; photoreception, colour & contour recognition, optical feedback and pattern bias.
