Artist Statement
My work stems from an obsessive fascination with constructive and de-constructive processes. I firmly believe that art should induce an emotional response from the viewer. Therefore, my practice explores the capacity for affective results held within commonplace materials when manipulated by creative and destructive techniques.
Drawing with non-traditional techniques, such as fire, is central to my current practice and allows for the exciting transformation of my materials. With a textiles background, I utilise fabrics to interpret an accessible language of mourning that speaks of memories and experiences common to us all.
