Artist Statement

“There is a spectre haunting art and its name is photography. Photography is everywhere and is done by everyone. Photographs are universal and today photography has no natural surface.” (Stephen Haley)

Through my practice as a photographer and digital artist, I have learned that the representation of my work is expansive and unbound to the ‘surface.’ The notion of photography’s omnipresence is emphasised in my aim to capture and adapt to a diverse range of themes, moods and ideas in composition. These are primarily influenced by everyday life and my interest in fantasy (or the dream-like) and spontaneity.
