Artist Statement

As a printmaker, recent practice led to a combination of ancient and modern techniques, opening up my partiality to interesting colour palettes.

The prints pay homage to the places and spaces that I have, and will always call home. I fused collagraph, lino and drypoint to unify notions of identity; self-realisation; childhood; memories and ‘growing-up’ hidden amongst the layered facades.

From my birth-home in the Philippines, the first Australian house in the suburb of Boxhill, Melbourne to Dubbo then Sydney, each house having enriched my life.

The work featured was an exploration of idiosyncratic fears and the conquering of them.
