Artist Statement

A moment in time where one can celebrate life, death, and the collective in one unifying celebration is what I endeavor to capture in my body of work.
Photo realistic artworks rely on the photograph, capturing a spontaneous moment. In correlation it can be a contradiction in medium, photo realistic drawing being laborious, a non-spontaneous mark making process. I intend as the artists to capture these contradictions through the use of collating various images together to signify a collective unit, a symbol of the festival.
