Artist Statement

“Trigger” is the exploration of how scents can trigger memories or emotions. It may be a whiff of perfume identical to that of your mothers, or desperately smelling the last remnants of a loved ones shirt, hoping for anything from it other than just the lifeless shirt before you. This is Trigger.

We all have a scent, our houses have a scent, our family members have a scent and each scent has a memory. It is the beautiful moment when you smell a scent and it triggers the clearest, most pristine memory in your mind that I want to capture.
