Artist Statement

Maria has a knack for drawing and designing intricate and unusual things and thrives on hands-on design where perfectionist finishes across textiles and jewellery are her specialty. What motivates and inspires her involves an array of colour, colour on fabrics, manipulation of fabrics digitally and texturally, jewellery objects and of course, the philosophy behind it all.

The influences of her diverse cultural backgrounds in the midst of this modern contemporary world are also derivatives for her inspirations, evidently portrayed through her integrated multidisciplinary design skills of graphics, textiles and jewellery. * (2011)
