Artist Statement
My art practice involves the concept of lifting the negative stigma attached to scars and acknowledging that an aesthetic quality can be found within them. My art making process is a ritualistic one, which involves applying paint or ink onto my scars and printing it onto a surface.
More recently I have depicted my affinity with the burnt environment. The act of assimilating myself into the burnt environment was used as a tool to closely examine the unusual virtuosity of the act of ruination within the arid landscape and further accentuate the sublimity found within my scars.
