Artist Statement

* BFA / BA (2011)
My work revolves around concepts of home, materiality and construction of the world around us. It is playful, dream-like, letting material become what it likes, chairs become flowers, windows become ships. Materiality and growth is expressed in the origins of materials. Charis begin to grow together becoming one with doors or tables; the wood reaches back to what it knows.

I intend to continue my interest in materials that construct the home. My work ‘Window Prism’ particularly interests me for further development. Using deconstructed pieces of the home and traditional features turned on their head.
