Artist Statement

‘Twilight is not my favourite time of the day … there’s something about the quality of light … and then of course, there’s the shadows…’ Just before the sun sinks below the horizon, and with it the demise of clarity and chroma, I feel a sense that something has been irretrievably lost … gone. I am currently exploring this sensation within the parameters of memory, juxtaposing recent experiences in Paris against those I had in Fromelles. Primarily a painter, my practice also engages cross-disciplinary media; I use whatever is necessary to translate my narrative to the visual.
