Artist Statement

* (2011)
I was inspired by the Turritopsis Nutricula jellyfish and its ability to transdifferentiate. Focusing on its ability to change back and forth between life stages in response to its environment, I aimed to highlight the idea of protecting the seemingly unprotected. By juxtaposing materials and textures within the pendants I was able to challenge the visual aesthetics of metal and paper in terms of strength and fragility.
