Artist Statement

An artist with a keen interest in psychology and philosophy, Daniela Meier-Mears explores the concept of connection as a means of mapping and tracing psychological states. Her practice is fundamentally placed within the tradition of painting and drawing, exploring different kinds of materials, gestural mark making, colour, shape and the materiality of paint. Meier-Mears’s current work delves into the connection to people, places and things, and spans both the personal and global.
