Artist Statement

Consistently drawn to ways of perceiving figures in Time and Space, Emma’s work often features elements of duplicity and static movement. She finds the layering, bleeding and soft outlines achieved with watercolours and pencils successfully evoke the human form. She has gradually shifted her focus from ‘the body’ to ‘the self’ and continues to examine the Space and Time relationship via the barrier between mental self and the physical self.
