Artist Statement
My art practice has continued to progress from experimenting with drawing and painting to making wearable art that manifest traditional and non-traditional mediums and materials.
My aim is to blur the thin line between waste and consumption, decay and its transformation into masks that act as portraits of unwanted objects and materials. These are accompanied by collage on recycled surfaces that extend the characters I have created. I consider the mask to be a powerful, recognisable form of identification with human forms, expanding my work into installation whilst working on both 2D and 3D levels in drawing and sculpture.
