Artist Statement

In the last decades lots of young people in my country was murdered by government. How hard it might be for mothers to watch their children dying for their beliefs? There is a well-known icon for such status called Pieta. Despite Pieta, what I am exploring is the feelings of a mother who is aware that she is giving birth to a soldier. A soldier who is tradesman of their lives, a wager who is condemned to lose … The mother here, is the prophet of the death. Giving birth to a child is admitting the mortality of an innocent.
