Artist Statement

My work explores perception and pretence through the dynamic interplay between the mind and its surroundings. I’m interested in human tendencies to seek and draw out meaning from arbitrary and everyday stimulus through form and shadow.

Drawn to the notion of home interiors and ‘living spaces’, I’ve engaged the interior of my childhood home and its potential to provoke and mediate an exchange between environment and imagination through ambiguity and suggestive form.

I’m interested in books, film and other classic stories from childhood that inform ways of seeing and are imbued in bourgeoning and continued imaginative engagements.
