Artist Statement
Pulpularization: To popularize the recycling technique of pulping papers.
Pulpularization was inspired by stumps and rainforest patterns. By using handmade pulp recycled papers as the core material is to raise awareness of the effect of deforestation on future generations.
Paper is originally made from wood, which is depleted, causing deforestation. The Floral patterns and stump prints were designed as reminders of the damage and extinction of animals and natural habitats. Papers’ original grungy colour was kept to symbolise the seriousness and decay of our natural environment, lacking the lush colours of our rainforests.
