Artist Statement

Gwen Marie is a third culture kid who takes inspiration from the people and places around her. Since her first encounter with colouring pencils as a child, it was evident that creativity was in her blood.

Her passion for using art and design as tools for problem-solving as well as self-expression is channelled through her interdisciplinary practice of graphics, environments and art, believing that the end products are mere extensions of our ourselves through the visual and aesthetic.

In her negotiation of space, form and function, she attempts to breathe life and character into the tangible, eliciting an emotional response.
