Artist Statement

I am a Sydney artist working across a number of fields, principally performance, installation and video, often based around storytelling with a strong spoken word element. I seek to look at the world from a specifically “Australian” point of view, and attempt to critique and/or celebrate aspects of Australian life as I see them. My work this year, titled Australia Malevolent: The Sunset Park, is a 13-part installation/performance work, with my band the Aerial Maps, using spoken word storytelling and music to investigate what I see as a malevolence which exists in aspects of the Australian experience.
