Artist Statement

Countless times I have told myself to be honest, to be true to myself. Yet I have found myself hiding behind a veneer of self-doubt and fear. I have found myself teetering on the edge of a void. Directionless and suspended.

This is my fragmented narrative. A self-portrait that confronts myself and my world around me, particularly my on-going grappling with depression.

In converting images that form the basis of a self portrait into sound, I create a visual lyricism. Through my honesty I hope to achieve clarity, and through this clarity touch upon something within the observer.
