Artist Statement

Derek is a photographer, cinematographer, musician and IT guy. His art practice aims to challenge our preconceived notions of our society and culture, and to look a little deeper at things we often take for granted. He loves combining new technology into his work and posts a detailed blog of these works at www.imageremoved.com

His current artwork, “Sydney” is a digital portrait of the city. It explores the notion of the hidden human crisis, and our tendency to be even more disconnected in an age where technology aims to bring us together but sometimes falls short.
