Artist Statement

I want to get beneath the remainder of twentieth-century significations of the human body to try and capture our organism in a hyper-realistic, contemporary context. In my current work I am not hoping to erase the subject, only to temporarily denude a body and foreground its immediate, domestic significations in order to visually commemorate this one of many interesting animals that have made it to the twenty-first century, and to provoke questions of its habitat.
