The COFA Annual 2013

Resume

Artifacts of Sound derived its concept from the history of sound recording technology as a means of comprehending the physical and visual aspects of sound, and therefore, music. A vinyl recording reveals the true recording, with every detail and layer of sound clearly visible. This is what creates the warmth and richness of sound experienced with vinyl records. The visual study of music through spectrograms and waveforms has formed unique graphics and illustrations, and the physical study of music through microscopic images of vinyl record grooves has formed a truly distinctive piece of furniture to house a record player.
