Elemental manipulation
Through gemstone magic, many creatures are able to harness specific natural elements to their advantage, using them constructively for building, artistically for design and aesthetic pleasure, and for competitive sports and fighting. Elements are controlled primarily through will of mind, with physical movement for more powerful motions. Techniques are largely intuitive and methods for control vary amongst all individuals. However, key elements such as water, earth and air are specific to their respective tiers and cannot be controlled by creatures outside of that region. Earth cannot be wielded by pure air or water creatures, and vice versa for the other tiers. Hybrid creatures across two tiers have the potential to freely wield elements from either tier. All other elements are global and can be used by creatures from any region. For further information, see this link: - http://lioneh.deviantart.com/art/Illumina-Elemental-Control-414100056
