Unlocking Memories
Anita Villa Residential Care Design.
'Unlocking Memories' intends to revitalize the dementia wards of the Blue Mountain's residential care facility Anita Villa by creating activity filled areas in order to stimulate both the unlocking of old memories and the creation of new experiences for the residents of the ward.
Through the inclusion of therapies such as cognitive stimulation, way finding, reminiscence therapy and physical activity, this project aims to increase a sense of community within the ward by addressing not only the needs of the individual, but that of all its residents, caregivers and their visitors.
