My practice incorporates traditional textiles as well as natural, recycled and cheap ‘crafty’ materials. Through repetition, embellishment and the construction of non-representative forms, I explore themes of identity, belonging and home, the psyche, and the fluidity of paradoxical relationships. Binaries such as fiction and fact, authenticity and artificiality, transparency and opacity, and freedom and constraint, inform the conceptual narrative of my practice.
