Ruichen
Insensible' is a self-reflective film adapted from Ruichen's personal experiences. The film reflects on the artist’s delayed awareness of his longing for kinship, a need he only noticed after his grandmother's death. By utilising the traditional Japanese literary term “mono no aware”, the film undertakes three different methods: transmitting through objects, expressing as a subjective feeling, and perceiving through dialogue. Through these methods, Ruichen aims to enhance the significance of an object within the frame while transmitting emotions of remembrance.
