Anna Legge
Waste After-Affects, 2023
Recycled soft plastic packaging, rPET thread, garbage bags
A Legge is an Australian multidisciplinary artist living and working on Gadigal land, Warrane/Sydney NSW Australia.
Legge's practice explores the vital materiality of soft plastic waste through a sympoietic approach to making: with an intimate practice of care-taking and attunement, she makes-kin with soft plastic waste, crafting queerly - elliptically or at an angle, open(ing) to new possibilities - to manifest (material) traces of its aliveness, inviting a re-encounter with plastic.
Legge completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the National Art School in 2021, majoring in Sculpture. She studied Ceramics and Screen Printing at Sydney College of the Arts, and has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and a Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology and Gender Studies) from the University of Sydney.
