Glazed earthenware, found objects
Brittany is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and creates in Western Sydney on Darug land. Working across the mediums of ceramics, textiles and painting, her practice places importance upon slow-making and tendering techniques that celebrate the imperfections of the human hand. Her more recent practice grapples with her own internalised prejudices from growing up in Western Sydney, largely stemming from the stereotypes projected by the media. Brittany is interested in capturing familiar iconographies in her handbuilt ceramic forms, combining these with antique furniture and objects to create a closeness between the harsh and the fluid, the expensive and the low.
