Karskens' practice centres around a surrealist and sculptural perspective on the vast emotional distancing between humans and animals. She has found an interest between combining her studies of Fine Art and Ecology and has incorporated the practice of taxidermy as a direct comparison to the objectification of animals as species in an Anthropocene Ecology. Claudia's intention is to create an interactive work in which the audience becomes uncomfortable by the apparent power humans fail to visualise and conceive over the animal kingdom.
