Danny Sky is an artist working in the mediums of painting, drawing and textiles. She draws on life experiences and the history of art and culture to create art that speaks politically through the confrontingly personal.

In the triptych, “Beware, Woman!”, Danny uses the self-portrait to explore and satire the stereotyped relationship between femininity and emotional irrationality or fragility, that persists in society and art. Inspired by artists such as Tracey Emin and Frida Kahlo, Danny aims for a fearless and undiluted expression of emotion and self in her art. Rather than shame, she hopes to find strength and connection in vulnerability.
