Installation
Ye insists on relinquishing control of the production of sound in my their process in order to study sound in its constructive forms. They encourage viewers to create sounds themselves; the video synthesiser and theremin transforming the sound and visuals. This has an affect on audiences’ perception of coexisting with space and time; embodying individuals’ images through collaborative interaction with a live-viewed camera.
The sound and visual images become dependent on the context of the works, therefore affirming a sense of hearing through sharing generative sound with audiences. The work becomes de-centred through generative production of the sound as visual imagery pushes audiences to constantly reconsider the subjectivity of the work. The perception of seeing and hearing feedback is experienced and changed physically in relationship to one’s movements and interactivity through the installation space.
