“Minde-scape” is a VR experience that explores escapism, internal conflict, and the journey to self-acceptance. Through the concept of cages (the birdcage, the ribcage, the library-mind-cage), Minde-scape explores the emotional distress and the way we turn to fantasy for comfort when we supress parts of ourselves to fit in. Often this is complicated when we belong to different social circles with clashing beliefs and opinions: the more identities one has, the more cages they have. The strange sense of gravity conveys the confusion of belonging to different worlds, and urges the audience to ponder: Am I in the correct plane of gravity, or not? Is what I believe “correct”, or are the people around me “correct”? Perhaps there is no “right” answer, only that you treat yourself and others with empathy, respect, and dignity. 

Ren is a digital media artist who enjoys telling stories through 3D modelling, illustration and animation.
