Reflecting the duality of cultural identity within an Asian/Australian lifestyle, Kelly's work gathers forgotten childhood memories to regain cultural heritage. Researching the psychology behind the development of memory in childhood, my practice expresses its ambiguity. Responding towards Danielle Knafo’s book "Dancing with the unconscious : The Art of Psychoanalysis and the Psychoanalysis of Art, involves the exploration of digital and analogue processes within color and composition, showcasing these manifested memories. Particularly emerging from the past experiences, visiting her homeland of Laos at a young age has resolved her work as a cultural personal archive, investigating personal and emotional complications of a mixed identity and family relationships.

Enhanced by learning the techniques of glitch to symbolise fragmented memory, the images further embody digital corruption as an expressive dynamic. Therefore forming a nostalgic world, her work further expresses the paradigms of archiving memory, indicating the evolving attachment to technology and its reliability.
