three acrylic paintings on framed canvas (51cm x 76 cm), fired ceramics earthenware clay with glaze and underglaze, found objects: wooden frames, family photographs, broken ceramic nativity set, ceramic stoneware milk jug, white table cloths.
Throughout her major in Drawing and Painting, Lucinda Hackett has mainly focused on drawing and acrylic painting. Still, she has discovered interests in new mediums such as watercolours, clay ceramics, objects, and design such as graphics and jewellery. Her work for studio 5 “The Silence in Between” (2023) this year was displayed and a part of the Jenny Burt Award. Over Hackett's time at UNSW she has discovered her art can create a path for healing and create an outlet to convey human experiences. She has used her art to reconnect with her Polish culture and heritage as well as process and heal relationships and trauma within her family. Other topics she has explored have been childhood, memories, disassociation, entropy and decay.
