People who are deaf or hard-of-hearing are often denied equal, and sometimes life-changing, opportunities. As an able-bodied person, it is my privilege and duty to advocate for and amplify their voices. For my final Design Studio project, I am designing an exhibition titled, 'Suara: Ripples in the Ocean of Silence' which showcases deaf artists and immersive experiences to invoke empathy for able-bodied audiences. For The Annual, I will showcase the exhibition design as well as a sample installation to give audiences an idea of what they can expect, should the exhibition one day come true.
