My work explores value, sentimentality and family histories through the reinterpretation of found textiles and objects. This leads me to question what exactly determines an object's value. Is it the care attached to its preservation? Could it be the price tag attached? Or is it the vast history behind it? Within my practice, I have utilised textiles, mark-making and the reframing of objects to create abstract iterations of my Mother's prized heirlooms. The piecing together of different fabrics, and reimagining the family heirlooms have allowed for further investigation into their history.
