'VOXED' is a zine that addresses the entrenched gender disparities within Australia’s music industry, where women frequently encounter issues of recognition and are subject to appearance-based prejudices. Despite extensive reports highlighting these persistent biases, progress remains limited, affecting women’s professional achievements and opportunities. This zine features anonymous interviews with female musicians and industry professionals, alongside compelling photography, to underscore the need for greater inclusivity and diversity. By confronting these systemic barriers and advocating for meaningful change, 'VOXED' aims to stimulate informed dialogue and demonstrate how enhancing gender equity benefits the broader music industry. This project offers an in-depth and insightful exploration of the challenges women face and seeks to amplify their voices.
