I live and work in Sydney (Gadigal/Garigal), Australia. I am a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in interior design. I have developed a fluid practice that operates between object-based and process-based methods of creation. My work spans the mediums of installation, sculpture, painting, video, sound, and performance. Through my work I explore everyday experiences, social dynamics, and the influence of objects on my surroundings. My works are autobiographical imbued with dry, laconic humour and an element of play. 'Social interaction' is a diverse facet of the human experience. We play numerous roles in various contexts on a daily basis. Drawing on Erving Goffman's dramaturgical theory, this installation compares social interaction to a theatrical play. All the World's a Stage highlights the small-scale interactions that make up daily life by dissecting events that occur both on and off stage. The installation includes objects that defy the established social order, such as sculptures that occupy a social grey area, interactive pieces that invite viewers to defy social norms, and video works that demonstrate "forced" social practices. This work, Infused with the laconic humour of the artful dodger, encourages us to take social interaction less seriously and instead reflect on our connections with others and our environment.
