My work maps tensions between the human, natural and scientific. Utilising found materials including, mild steel, stone, and medical equipment. Within the medium of sculptural installation, my work details human impact and imprint, documenting the delicate relationships between the body, the natural world, and an unfaltering endeavour towards progression. By embodying this tension and through practice a romantic warning is explored, a warning for the human impact on the natural, and a warning for the loss of authentic human relationships at the hand of scientific advance. Cautionary but not dismissive, inviting the viewer to consider the price of progress, allowing them to interrogate the imperative of maintaining genuine relationships with environment, technology, others and themselves. What is the value of authenticity in a world which is increasingly dominated by technology and the pursuit of unchecked progression?
