Keroshin
I am an artist working and living on unceded Gadigal land. My work explores notions of race and ethnicity, as well as cultural practices.
My research has been influenced Homi K. Bhabha and Stuart Hall's descriptions of culture and identity being in a constant state of change, and not from a single time and place. My practice involves investigating material histories and processes, exposing various treasured items as being hybrid, and overlaying images and words from personal archives. This has meant that the work touches on topics ranging from global trade and colonisation, material craft history, genealogy and ancestral rituals.
