The body as a tool reflects the self's body, through expression of emotion, movement, and action. My mark making is a reference to graphic scores that are presented with random and gestural marks. Listening to music, responding to the beat through speed and movement allows freedom into the unknown. The body, response, surface, and the mark connect. My instinctive and iterative process speak of immediacy, intimacy and cyclical transference from interior to exterior. The layering technique builds up the marks and listening to music in the process. Materials include charcoal powder mixed with water and acrylic paint on fabric.
