My soft pastel and ink drawings depict the decomposition of a past self, giving birth to a present self. The figures, illustrated using self-portraiture, symbolise my own stages of self-transformation in an exchange of death and life. Integrating refined representations with figurative layers of biomorphic mark-making demonstrates the energetic push and pull of this narrative, which ultimately explores the dynamic nature of selfhood and the multiplicity of identity.
