Yuan Wan

I specialise in Ceramics and Jewellery design. My multicultural living background and study of Humanities and Social Science bring new insight into my design concept, whilst integrating elements of Chinese culture. I present unique Chinese aesthetics with contemporary design methods and promotes the spirit of cultural diversity and inclusion. The core theme in my project is visually soft, actually hard. I have always believed that objects and jewellery are significant for individuals to express their personalities, and vice versa. As an object designer, I hope to convey personal feelings and thoughts through design. This project reflects the lessons I have learned over the past two years. Life needs to be as soft and free-flowing as ceramics, yet don't lose the strength of metal.
