Tea House – Modular Design (2020) Physical model

A&D ANNUAL 2020

Amy Jieun Joung

Amy Jieun Joung’s project involves the design of a deployable kiosk for Arabian refugee women to make and sell Arabian tea. This work promotes intercultural understanding and exchange by acknowledging and celebrating Arabian culture and their contributions to tea-making, as well as providing practical employment opportunities for Arabian refugee women. This temporary space will be set up once a year during Refugee Week, as well as at local markets and festivals supported by each local government committed as A Refugee Welcoming Zone as initiated by the Refugee Council of Australia.
