Anika Campbell

Anika Campbell’s artistic practice provide windows into an alternative world in which queer women are at the centre of their own history. These drawings were first constructed digitally, transferred onto cold-pressed watercolour paper, and completed using ink and gouache; the process takes the fictional reality from the immaterial and digital to the physical. To create a world separate from our own, Anika has constructed a unique language of symbols to further conceptualise this realm of queer visibility and power; the iconography acting as the mediator and translator into this world.
