A&D ANNUAL 2022

Ant

Ant is a Thai-Australian game developer interested in examining their gender and cultural otherness through the digital lens. This work encompasses a playable game space where an audience member can interact with and form a bond with a digital character. Their work playfully expands the digital body as both a method of representation and its own performative entity. The current body of work repositions the relationships between player and Non-Player Character (NPC) from being a narrative tool in gameplay design to instead consider them as affective beings in their own right.
