‘Elle Bags’ focuses on the relationship between materiality and the artist. When designing ‘Elle’, Ella Heaton wanted to take a step back and appreciate the environment around her. She wanted the brand to embody natural, hand-made products that give back to the earth through both materials and processes. ‘Elle’ is based on being conscious of the planet, with the hope of educating consumers about leather and its incredibly devastating impacts on our environment. By creating bags made solely from natural fibres, Ella hopes to raise awareness around the importance of choosing sustainability and the environment by creating pieces that not only give back to the planet, but are fashionable and accessible.
