A&D ANNUAL 2020

Ella Shul

This research expands on Ella Shul's practice in graphics and illustration. Her project focuses on how we can design a technological solution to promote more sustainable purchasing behaviours and ultimately reduce textile waste. The design outcome is an app named ‘Verto’ where users navigate their way through an inclusive and easy-to-use virtual thrift store experience. The main values include size inclusivity, easy navigation, a sense of community, COVID-19 safety features and a standardised photography process for items being sold. ‘Verto’ was created with the aim to promote the extension of clothing lifecycles and the reuse of garments instead of them being discarded.
