A&D ANNUAL 2022

Isabella Feek

‘Kissing the Floor’ is a study of intimacy, connection and togetherness. Focused on the finicky, fleeting nature of intimacy, Isabella Feek unpacks the haptic qualities of tenderness and invites audiences to explore poignant serendipity throughout her work. By exploring the materiality of the utopic, queer dancefloor and all of its elusive, teasing didactics, she invites audiences to share in this dance floor and latent touchability. Through symbolism of flickering, haptic light, found on both shimmering water and scintillating floors; ‘Kissing the Floor’‚ frolics in the flux of queer joy, insatiable desires and colossal, cosmic kinship. To encounter this work is to encounter this sentient, touching embrace.
